PREMIUM VS BUDGET - WINTER TYRES

Goodyear put two sets of tyres to the test on a track aimed to mimic the effect of stopping on ice. One car was fitted with premium Goodyear winter tyres, while the other was fitted with a set of budget tyres.

Premium vs budget winter tyres

There is often a considerable difference between premium winter tyres and budget winter tyres. In the clip, both cars attempt an emergency stop on the icy surface. The car fitted with premium Goodyear UltraGrip Performance tyres stops much sooner than the car fitted with budget winter tyres – a 44 metre difference in stopping distance!
